How did you get started in comedy?
Am improv show in Florida is what started it all. I was a volunteer on stage. I enjoyed when people laughed at what I said. I started stand up comedy within the next two weeks and won my first competition.
What do you think is your worst failure/most embarrassing moment in comedy?
I was once booed by two women for saying their dad looked like Faizon Love. I felt horrible because I didn’t have the heart to tell them, they also look like Faizon Love.
What moment are you most proud of?
Getting to film for Tru Tv.
Who inspires you?
My wife. She loves it when the bills get paid. It’s one of her favorite pastimes. I also love Dave Chappelle. I love Dave and my wife the same.
Do you have a favorite venue?
The Columbus Funny Bone. It’s my home club.
What do you think Columbus comedy does best?
It’s a very supportive scene. A lot of great shows are put on right here in the city.
What's the best comedy advice you've ever heard?
Don’t be afraid to fail. Staying in your comfort zone will get you nowhere.
What advice would you give someone just starting out in comedy?
Get on stage as often as possible.
